A series of video blogs on Albert Schweitzer, reverence for life and environmental ethics by the Institute's Director, Benedict Rattigan:

"The way I see it is that environmental ethics is about keeping whole ecosystems in a kind of healthy balance – not over‑controlling them from the centre, but not just leaving them to collapse either. On that view, Schweitzer’s 'reverence for life' is really about helping living systems stay in that sweet spot at the edge of chaos, where you respect each creature but also look after the bigger, dynamic processes that let life renew itself."
